
Msgr. Henning received a Doctorate in Biblical Theology from the Pontifical University of St. Thomas Aquinas (Rome) in 2007. His dissertation concerned the Christological content of the speeches of Peter and Paul in the Acts of the Apostles. He received Papal Honors in 2008.
In addition to teaching classes at the seminary, Msgr. Henning serves as a formation advisor and assists on weekends in local parishes. He writes a regular column for the Long Island Catholic, a blog for the website of the Diocese of Rockville Centre, and is one of the authors of Christ Our Hope, the companion volume to the visit of His Holiness, Pope Benedict XVI to the United States and the United Nations in 2008.
In addition to Scriptural programs in parishes, Msgr. Henning recently offered workshops at the annual convention of the National Catholic Educational Association (NCEA). He also directs the Parresia Project, a grant funded initiative of the Seminary Department of the NCEA and the Seminary of the Immaculate Conception.
